Tamiya Tank Info File
I thought it might be a good idea to gather, and collate, useful info on Tamiya Tank components- together with any relevant factoids or interesting details (wiring details, etc.)
This Tamiya sub-forum, within electronics, seemed a reasonable location; although this thread will also embrace non-electronic bits and bobs.
Here are the tanks: Full-Option; with electronic control units, and Static; which have no RC capability (but it can be added, of course).
Here's a typical DMD Control (Mulfti Function) unit, for starters. These pics are taken of brand new units, so if you want to compare them with one you have, that might have a suspect capacitor, trace, or whatever, you'll have a decent reference to work with. The MF-04 is fitted to to the Jagdpanther(56024)
Here's the DMD MF-01, it's fitted to the Panther:
I wish I'd used my SLR on these, with better lighting, in order to make the images as crisp as possible.Hopefully, though, the PCB details are just clear enough.
This is a wiring diag I found on RCU, if I remember correctly. Finding any Tamiya wiring reference help is never easy.
I'll be adding more details to this as I go along.

Re: Tamiya Tank Info File
Here are some pics, taken mostly from German websites, showing which models share common electronic/electro-mechanical and mechanical components.
Conveniently, the models using these parts are listed here, along with their part numbers.
Time for a cup of tea- or a Kipper Tie if, you live in Birmingham
Pic's from Modellbau-seidel. Hope he doesn't mind. Since he won't ship to the UK, maybe he won't mind allowing us at least having the usage, and benefit, of his component catalogue. It's the most extensive online, I think.

Re: Tamiya Tank Info File
Thanks, Lee! There's not a lot I do my tank projects currently, as progress required calm sunny weather for painting/airbrushing. So, I thought I'd use my time productively by putting some info out there.Model Builder 4 wrote:That's very useful info Roy thanks for sharing, I've book marked it now for future reference

Re: Tamiya Tank Info File
This is the ESC part of Tamiya's electronics package, and it's for several Full-option Tanks. The DMD T-03:
Tamiya Tiger I Full-Option Kit (56010),
King Tiger Full-Option Kit (56018),
Panther G late Version Full-Option Kit (56022),
Jagdpanther (56024)
Panzer IV Ausf. J (56026).
Other units look almost identical, but specific features are probably controlled by firmware differences.
DMD T-05: Sherman (56014) 105mm Howitzer -7255035
DMD-T06: M26 Pershing (36016)- 7255089
DMD-T07: Leopard 2A6 (56020) 7255166
DMD-T08: KV-1 (56028)
KV-2 (56030)

And you really shouldn't use them unless you want your gearboxes to eat them selves at the first sign of an obstructionxhelfix wrote:Hi,
