Looking to create a cast texture for my Pershing. Which method do you recommend? I'm looking at MR Surfacer, but which do I use? Thanks!

Hello pershinglover, I use Mr surfacer 500 to create cast textures on anything I need. I find that you get a better effect if you stipple it on with an old brush rather than just paint it. Be sure to use an old unwanted brush as this stuff eats them so don't go using your best ones :D

Cheers, Lee.

Yes, Mr. Surfacer 500, because 1000 would be too fine. Remember this stuff was made for 1/35 models. ;-)

I have used the Mr Surfacer on my Panther and Tiger. Applied it in several coats for an interesting result. For my future kv1 build I ordered the 500 though. Brushes can be easily cleaned with their thinner, so no need to worry.

I have to agree with the mr surfacer 500, I used this myself on my Tamiya Pershing to great effect, I applied it in a small area then let it dry slightly then dabbed it with a stiff brush. For a more rough texture give it another coat.
