My inspiration for the camo:
It ended up being a mix of these two, pattern-wise more like the lower one but not such a hard edge.

1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!
I'm a happy man.

I wanted to work on the wood block
More grain in the wood
I re-blued the metal bands, the one on the right is 'after'

I chose tho minimalise the markings, especially since I am not re-creating an excisting tank. I chose this 'Panzer Lehr' marking because I like the bright yellow color, I like the position, and it is kind of how the markings on the Munster Panzermuseum Panther are.
Unweathered
With some more shading (all over the place) done with the airbrush using panzergrau

Are you leaving the barrel like that? Is it supposed to represent the replacement barrels?

I still haven't decided. It seemed like a good idea, and I once built a 1:16 Panther like that and it was a nice touch, but on this larger scale it seems a bit... boring?PershingLover wrote:Are you leaving the barrel like that? Is it supposed to represent the replacement barrels?

New set of tracks!
On the far right very, very nice spare tracks. See this topic for details on those and an extensive guide ho I weathered those:

I LOVE how these turned out, but... the track hangers are wider than these track-openings!
So I thinned the lower part down
Fits!
