Fibre optic cable - Where can I buy some??

I have a secret plan, and need some fine filament fibre optic cable that will light up along its length from an led at one end. Does anyone know of a cheap source? A couple of meters/yards should do the trick.

Somebody once said on one forum or another that fishing line was good for fibre optics. I can't qualify this as I have never used fishing line in that kind of application. But just a thought.

I heard that too, but as I may need it to be up to 6" long I was doubtful that it would do the job. As it turns out that jolly nice El Presidenty is going to sort me out at Cobbaton.
