Muzzle Brake Blackening

Hi guys,
I found this article and thought it was interesting, It seems the muzzles of our tanks should'nt be all sooty.

Nice find Rik. Personally I always try to make the muzzle brake look a gun metal colour, as if any paint has been burnt off.

On a side note. I read a book about the experiences of a Churchill squadron in Normandy a while back. It stated that the Germans used a special cordite in there main gun ammunition which reduced smoke and gun flash. Unfortunately for our lads this meant that if you saw the gun flash, there was a good chance that the shell was heading for your tank!
