This has been on the back burner for months, an idea that festered-could the World Peacekeepers infantry fighting vehicle be made RC using the running gear from a WPL 6x6 truck?
In short yes, but it wasn't as easy as it looks.
After stripping the body, taking the wheels off I test fitted one of the truck axles and it fit perfectly, even with the wheels on-great stuff, er no...the angled body and the way the chassis and steering gear had to fit had me scratching my head so, it was off to the club to get some advice, a member looked at and said he would have a look-now, we both suffer from arthritis in our hands and I was finding it a real struggle but, after a couple of weeks, and a message asking if he could hack away at the body...she turned up. In payment for his time, swearing and cursing I gave him a spare Type 90/92 for him to play with.
So, it was then my turn to add to the amazing work that Chris had done, electrics in, lights in-a chuffing faff on the front ones, window shutters made and fitted, detail parts added, new paint job and decals added. There is a weather coat to add but that is when I get around to it.
Just finished programming the transmitter so here are her first piccies.
The first picture shows what the toy looks like, not bad detail wise and based on a real vehicle.
