Thank you very much everyone for your encouragements!
Here is the model after the painting phase. All painted, awaiting installation of the electronic et tracks.
I know Barry wanted to see the Shapeways M1919 Browning body with Aber brass barrel.
Interior shots first. I have a unbuild Verlinden 1/16. I was able to photocopy the interior markings and simply glue them on the interior walls.
Driver's position and instrument console
Interior minus the roof and turret.
The MRV has been given the honour of a full load of ammo, ready for war.

Although i like to build models i have not seen before, i am dreaming of something simpler.HERMAN BIX wrote:What’s on for your next project?

Exterior shots. The turret has a lot of cabling that will be something to run through to the engine compartment for connections to the TK40.
The interior with the turret installed will look better once the interior lighting is wired.

Louis,
The painting has really brought the machine into the realm of reality
The 30 cal. looks good so that looks like what I'll be using on my M551.
Fantastic work!

Hi, thank you all for you encouragements. The M-113A1 MRV is done, finished, finito . Oh, I could have spend another month making small details here and there to make it perfect but I want to move on to another project.
Here is a YOUTUBE video of the M-113A1 MRV in action during the workbench trials. It is fully operational and ready for war. It was a bit complicated to operate it while taking the video. Once the snow is melted, I will take it outside for a good ride.

Here are some pictures with electronics and tracks installed and tested.
I think I managed to make a rare and unique vehicle. It was a really complicated challenge with potential pitfalls at every step.
Interior shots with the interior lighting.
Ah these Tank Modellbau metal tracks... adding the pads with superglue was easy but they required a lot of patience and efforts to make them run correctly on the sprockets. The sprockets needed a lot of grinding to make the teeth smooth and accept the links.
I know, these are Nato M-113 tracks, not the US version used by the Australians in the 80s. But its better than Panzer III tracks for sure.
Pictures of the electronics. A Clark TK-40 is on the left panel, the small HL T-90 battery on top. I am really glad I was able to connect all the wiring and fit everything within the engine compartment while allowing all the features of the tank to work nicely.
The model features;
- Turret rotation activated by a 360 continuous servo.
- 76mm gun elevation, recoil, flash and sound
- Coax Browning machine gun with flash and sound
- Front lights, tail lights and interior lighting
- Servo activated rear ramp
- Speaker in the fuel tank
- Detailed interior, including driver's compartment and rotating turret basket
- Mato gearbox
The Flysky receiver is at the bottom of the engine compartment, between the gearbox and bulkhead. Lots of wiring.
Hope you enjoyed the build. I will post another video soon.
Regards, Louis
