Hi All

I need a serious poll moment. Did you all see this link?

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8721629/tm.htm

Ok bottom line is using this free building software/artwork I MIGHT be able to get these buildings done in the Uk in 1/16th scale but I need numbers interested. Im a print buyer buy trade and I have a larger format digital printer who works for me that can not only print these out but also cut out the bits as well. In effect produce flat pack 1/16 colour gaming buildings.

We are seriously looking at this at present, idea being eitehr supply the models on a roll of self adhesive material, kiss cut so that they just peel from the sheet onto your card or even printed and mounted onto 3mm plastic and cut out, you then put together how you want, ie clip or glue. They are working out costs now. This will be this forum only as obviously I cant take the piss out of the free download artwork, thats just not fair. So it wouls be a sort of forum only affair, not an ebay sale. Id try to keep the cost down but at this size they are unlikely to be cheap but at this stage all I would want is an idea of interested numbers. Before I go ahead I would invest in printing off and making up a village to show everyone on our site before anyone committed so you could see what you were gettinmg for your money.

Please sound off if you want to be kept informed

yep, keep me in the loop, I'm sure there's a couple of battlefields in the UK that could use some buildings, and putting the occasional roll of printed vinyl in the post to the US isn't all that expensive either.

I did talk to Matt about getting some space here for Borealis to upload his pre-sized files for us, but I haven't gotten around to getting back to him (sorry, it fell off the table what with all this international travel I'm doing at the meoment ::) :( ).

I'll send him a note when I get in tonight (assuming that you haven't already been in touch with him?)
I also have another source for eastern front style houses, they just need a little more work to resize them...

I am interested, home printing cannot compare to industry standards. If the price is right I will take one.

Thanks for your efforts.

yeah great if he's already re-sized the files. yep we're just working out the technicalities now. Ive seen these machines work before its amazing. Everything can be printed up on a sheet say 12 feet wide but then they cut out using air to a predetermined depth in teh case of teh sticker option where as you peel teh buidling off teh backing sheet the actual shape comes away, in the case of the plastic mounted option it would cut out the actual shape into the bits ! clever stuff but lets not get ahead of ourselves as I dont have a cost yet!

Cheers

I'll do the same - I've contacted the rest of the Detroit club to see if any of the others are interested.

OK, update. The file produces a roll , wait for it...1.65 meters wide by nearly 17 meters long! God knows how many buildings are on here. Im getting a print sample from my printers to see what it looks like.

How do we all feel about buying a " Village on a roll " Literally a whole village that you cut out and stick to your own backing board to make up the town? Im looking into the options now.

Not getting a great deal of feedback though guys.....

definitely interested in that, if the northern lads would be willing to all chip in we could have our village up and running sooner then we thought, as for the feedback i sympathise..................oz
