Hi I collect WW2 military . German , British, US Army , USMC . I am in a WW2 living history group . That's sort of on hold at the mo because of my work situation and my medical probs from a none fault car accident , as a lorry rammed into my car ,but I will be going back to it and still doing my RC tanks . Ive made many props for this group . The picture bellow is of all original U.S. Army WW2  gear  . This was a display I did about the invasion of Guadalcanal in 1942. In my local museum . The picture bellow shows the standard early war U.S. Army gear I also displayed early U.S.M.C. gear of which some is extremely rare .

Hi Ern .
That's just the tip of the iceberg i have stacks of US gear . For example canteen covers I have several different styles :

Army
Early pattern with full rear seam,
standard pattern with seam just at top,
Tan covers
OD covers
OD covers with white stitching ( hard to find especially 43 dated)
Strengthend hook type,
British made,
British made with strengthend hook,
USMC
WW1 Army pattern
1st pat with LTD,
1st pat with press studs,
Dog eared type,
Dog eared type with drain hole.

Then theres all the canteen / cup variations it just goes on and on .
Andy

All types of webbing have numerous variations . Most of mine has come from the States as its harder to get earlyer stuff here in the UK

Very late war USMC gear simular to what was used in the last battles of WW2 . The cammo piece is the tent . You would button two together . I also have the early war tan USMC tent half and these are very rare .

Hi Bigmac,
Yer its a intresting hobby , thanks for your msg . I gets a bit indepth buying stuff as theres more than one vereation of each piece . Im trying to get a set of USMC infantry equipment for each year ie 1942 to 1944 . And the vereations . I have loads and I mean loads of US Army and USMC gear . I must have other ten Garand 10 pocket belts army and USMC . I have an early war M1 helmet with the cardboard Hawley linner , very hard to get  .Some stuffs rarer ie the US gear in OD dated 1943 with white stitching is very sort after . And British made US equipment is expensive. I am in a living history group to but thats on hold due to my current situation work wise . I dont use my collection for that its worth to much . So I have other gear for that . We do the 101st A/B but do US infantry , 82nd A/B and German para , XX , British A/B . But the 101st is are main impression . I might post some more picts . I do have deactivated weapons as thats all you are allowed in the UK and the laws just changed . You need a reason to buy them now ie be in a living history group , display in a museum etc . I do both and have been told by my local firearms officer what I have got is ok to have .
