I am new and will tried to search using the “search bar.” Pardon me if I have missed it because I’m sure that it has been answered before. What is and where to get the gray for a Taigen early version grey tiger? I can’t seem to match it.

Will you be using a Brush or a Rattle Can or an Airbrush ?
If you go to Weathering and Painting on the Tipa and Tricks section of the Forum you will get a lot of help.

I like the testors wehrmacht Gray in the rattle can.

Strangely "Humbrol 27 Sea Grey Acrylic Matt" is much closer to the original Early Tiger than "Humbrol Tank Grey Acrylic Matt",
Both are available in Tinlets and Rattle cans.

I just bought some humbrol 27 sea grey to paint parts on my early tiger looks a great match

The surfaces would be slightly different shades from the dust, sun bleaching and general weathering. I have several shades of gray on mine which can also help highlight otherwise boring areas of the tank. Just a suggestion. Of course some people like the factory fresh appearance.

The Paint the Tanks carried was in blocks that the crew would dissolve in Petrol/Gasoline or Water.
The Paint was applied with Rags or a bass broom,
The ubiquitous bucket coming to the fore,
There was not the artistry that we put into our models,
We would wipe our Landies over with Brake Fluid and hose them down with water to remove the old Paint then wipe them over with a Petrol soaked rag then apply the Paint.
At least we had paint brushes,
Some more inventive among the troops would use one of the old pump action Fire extinguishers as a spray gun but the army went and spoiled everything by replacing them with Hard Plastic shelled sealed Fire extinguishers.

Humbrol have been marketing Enamel and Acrylic paint in 12ml pots that they advertise as "Tinlets" for years,
They are now in Plastic but for many years they were in Tins with lids that got stuck to the tin and in the hands of pre-teen boys painting their "Airfix" (Also owned by Humbrol )1/72 Me109 could easily spray the contents of the Tinlet over his bedroom as the stuck lid suddenly came free.

I'm guessing a tiny tin, not to be confused with Tiny Tim.
