Nice to see the exact location of the starting handle on the Tiger 1 late,
Plan views of Tanks in general are far too scarce.

What link?wibblywobbly wrote:If you read the link...they couldn't, lol, the sticky stuff stuck to their uniforms, and as the pin had been pulled to activate the fuse they couldn't let go of the handle to get the mine off.

Re: Torro Late Production Tiger 1 Restoration
My bad Mick...too busy switching between the workbench and the pc. I've now added the link into the post above.
Now added the weld seam across the turret, and lowered the cupola. I cheated with the turret ring. The offset on the turret mount means that mounting it on the hull results in the turret going off centre when it rotates. I therefore glued it onto the turret base so that it stays in line. It needs to be a couple of mm bigger I reckon (can't find any pics of where it sits on a real one).

Ah yes, I forgot the Tigers from the Chinese brands have off centred turrets and aren’t they misshapen or something?

Yes they are, to rectify it means carving up the upper hull and relocating the turret hole etc. It's been done, but it's a lot of work and getting it wrong would have dire results.

Re: Torro Late Production Tiger 1 Restoration
Thought I had better post up some pics to show that this isn't lying on a dusty shelf. Still plenty to do, but it's taking shape, and already looking a whole lot better than when I got it. I have a TK22 Leopard sat here, which promptly blew the main fuse when running it in a Leopard 2A6 with Graupner Speed 400 motors (it was only on the bench??), so it's going off to Taiwan to get converted to a TK24 with Tiger sounds.
