I just purchased a Hooben Elephant. There is little out there for eletronics. Is there a vendor that can put together what is needed? I have worked with Tamiya tanks primarily over the years and they are complete. I did note the Hooben VCU. It looks to be a Chinesium copy of the TK units, which I know little about.
All that comes with the Hooben is elevation and rotation servos. I appreciate

Pretty much all the 3rd party electrics support servo elevation, traverse and recoil and have an elefant sound package. IBU, Clark or el mod, take your pick!

Look in the Certified Vendors (top of page) on here: I've bought electrics from both Tankbear (Ian) and Maxmekker (Stian) and they're both very patient.....

Well, let me give you my address. You can send me your Zimmerit..lol I have done 1/35 scale many times by hand. I just don't have the time anymore flying 3-4 days a week.

I just built the Hooben Elephant with the Atak Zims and also IBU2 Pro board. Clark board would work the same. Elevation and Rotation are DC motor driven so it will just like a turret tank.

The new Hooben has even better hardware as far as the basics. The drives are ALL metal. No more plastic. The operation for recoil and barrel rotation is now servo operation. The hull has brass reinforcements where the bogie mounts pass through the hull.
The seller listed the kit as complete with the controller (VCU) and other accessories. They aren't there. I thought about ordering the stuff from Hooben. They sell the TK22 as the factory control board. ( Or a Chinesium rip off.) The smoker they offer is the cheap offering from Heng Long and not even the proportional version. The speaker looks respectable.
I saw the convoy light on the one here, which was really nice. I didn't see any wiring supplied. I love the hard case for this available from Hooben. It looks like one of my gun cases and it's custom fit. It's so difficult to move or transport my Sherman Firefly.

Hi there,
I have built two Hooben elephants, one for myself and one as a commission build. Both of these came with a variety of servos for gun recoil, elevation, and traverse. I believe the original Hooben releases had motors for these functions. The kit instructions showed a mix of these, with added page inserts for the servo placements. As for the electronics, I used the RCTA Asp board with a rctank.de medium sized visaton speaker. Asp is very similar to elmod fusion.
Also, to give the tanks a little more weight and stability I added metal tracks from Hobby summit.

DKLM RC sells a metal reinforcement plate, for the bottom hull of the Hooben T55, it's $45 US
