Hi All,

I thought members might be interested in a good book from Amazon, Wehrmacht Panzer divisions 1939-1945.

It covers all the various panzer divisions, insignia, strength and nice drawings of the tanks and other armoured mech.

The link is here...

Interestingly the Soft cover edition is £56 and the Hard cover is under £16 :lolno:
I was put off by one review that said that the first edition was spoiled by spelling mistakes and faulty captioned pictures, All of these mistakes allegedly being repeated in this latest edition.
Whatever happened to proof readers ???
I shall wait for somebody on the Forum to offer a learned opinion before investing in a copy. :haha:

I have that book (probably 1st edition), and the opinions stated are accurate. I have a few others from that series and frankly I wouldn't trust any of them. At least the artwork in the old Panzer Colours series reflected the shapes of the cam patterns if not the colours themselves, but this series seems to be utter tosh based on my subsiquent research. The division markings are accurate (as are the Panzer Colours series I -III - most people agree that at least they used the best available material in the late 1970's) but the rest of the colour illustrations are worthless (as are most of the Eastern European sourced material found on the web)

Honestly, if you want good reference books I'll be happy to recommend anything from Panzerwrecks. If its not (stolen) from one of their publications then it probably ain't right...

ah okay. I was then going to get the SS panzer division book also from the same authors. Might go the Panzerwrecks route.
