As i await parts for my next big build, i take this time to improve some of my favorite older models in my collection.

As the Centurion has a heavy resin turret and a metal recoil unit, the standard Heng Long turret rotation unit always had great difficulty. I therefore replaced it with a metal high torque model which resolved the issue.

The older 4 channel Clark TK-22 has been replaced by a TK-60 and the tank was rewired for it. The TK-60 allows RC features like engine start, lights, main gun and machine guns firing to be assigned to switches, allowing easier operations of the tank with the sticks dedicated to only one function. It also allows firing the guns while the tank is moving.

I found the motors of the Mato gearbox to lack responsiveness to speed control so i replaced the two cheap (type 104) capacitors by three new ones of better quality. I can see immediate results at low speed and while turning the tank on the grass.

And finally, i do not think i ever presented a field demo of the Centurion. Here are two short videos taken today. The demo was done on difficult grass surface and the tank and tracks are managing it.
