Afternoon gents
I am getting near completion on my Tamiya Pershing restoration. This morning I ordered screws I'm the correct sizes to hold down the upper hull. It had occurred to me that to charge the battery on this model I will have to unscrew the two screws under the hatches at the front of the upper hull plus the 2 screws at the side/rear of the hull. Surely there is a better way and was wondering if anyone on here that is familliar with this model has any ideas to make it easier. I would use magnets but the upper hull seems to require a fair bit of downward force to hold it in place

I've seen the magnet method work well as long as they are strong enough.

I used smaller lipos and change the battery by taking the turret off and sliding it in that way.

Not sure if something is out of place on mine. If I use the clip at the rear of the upper hull I have to really force the front end down. May be a bit of better wire management or something is not in the correct place. More investigation required. Has anyone used a charge port of any kind?

I have been using Magnets on most of my Tanks, I even replace the Taigen Quick release with Neo-Dymimiun magnets from
http://www.first4magnets.com.
There is a massive range on this site including 13 Kg Pull Countersunk slimline Magnets 6mm thick Approx.
First class service that gets a from me.
My first Torro Tiger 1 came with a built in charging port,I was not a member of this Forum at the time,
I belonged to RCU and they were full of warnings about the dangers of charging a battery in the tank so I have never tried it.
And as I use mostly Li-Pos now I am not about to start.

Far to complex, take the turret off and remove battery, or if under supervision charge in the tank.

I just fasten the front two screws as the rear is kept in place by the small slot keyed into the back panel.

Getting the turret turning is my only issue thanks to the clutch gear!

I have had to super glue the clutch gear in mine to get the turret to turn
