3d text printing problem

Hi 3d specialists,

I have got a problem with printing 3d texts. I tried to print out a fuel barrel downloaded from thingiverse with a raised text on the top. When printing was finished, the text was only partly printed and completely unreadable.
After that, I designed my own barrel with different lids. One lid had a two millimeter tall text raised about 0.4mm above the lid surface, the other lid had a 4 mm text raised the same 0.4mm.
The 2mm text was completely missing, the 4mm text had parts missing.
Cross checking with Cura preview showed that the text (or parts thereof) were already missing in the gcode.
Can anyone please give me some suggestions how to fix this behavior?

Here the necessary Cura / printer stats (if you need additional info, please tell me):
Printer: Anycubic i3 mega mk2, nozzle size 0.4mm

Cura settings (ultra fine preset):
Line width 0.4mm
Slice thickness 0.06mm
Nozzle temp 200°C
No smoothing

A lot depends on how the stl file was created andusing what software. If the text character width is too fine for cura to properly convert to gcode then it will fail to render properly. One way round this is to fit a finer nozzle, say .2m instead of .4mm, then cura may be able to render it.

Sorry that I forgot to mention the software I use.
I have settled for OpenSCAD as the editor and renderer of my choice.

Is your infill set at 100%? If you try printing small raised elements with less than 100% and there is a conflict with the wall thickness then cura won't be able to calculate what.to print. I have had the same issue a number of times. There are various other settings that can cause problems too.

No, my infill setting is 30%.
Yet I am not sure if this is a problem here. The part is only 1.5mm thick with a top / bottom layer of 0.8mm. So, in effect, the part should be filled anyway.
However, thank you very much for your hint. I will try and check if the infill setting solves the problem.

Printed this text using Cura, 0.2 layer height, 100% infill. It can be done.

I have printed alot of text with my printers via Cura. Not had an issue yet as you describe
