Since I first joined I have been a bit busy:

Panzer Mark III received damaged, probably soviet partisans. All 4 drive and idlers wheels were cracked. Smoke unit was cracked. Front right headlamp missing ring. Armored ?mantlet? behind cannon cracked and missing piece. Stored road wheels broke off of supports.

I complained and received free a set of metal drive and idlers, hurrah!

Installed the drives and idlers and then I upgraded to metal tracks. Painted the new metal bits Flat Afrika mustard, FS30266.

Removed the smoke unit, in pieces. Smoke is not that important to me.

Still need to replace the headlight. Glued the broken off plastic on the ?mantlet?. Glued the spare road wheels back on.

Moved the power switch to a pre-existing slot on the left side.

Not that much room in the inside, have to be careful of moving wires, etc......turret may not traverse all the way.

More to come on other tanks received.

Ordered metal road wheels, more fun next month.

The III's are tight on the inside, but you can gain a little more room by removing the battery box. You can also fit a standard size battery pack in there, too. Here's a picture of my III I converted to a Stug III Ausf A2...

I glued the battery door in place and sealed it up. Rare earth magnets hold the upper hull on, so no screws to take out. Makes it easier to swap out batteries.

I also did this with my Pz III and everything works great. No problems with rotation at all.

I will be doing this as well. This seems like a good starter project for me to tackle. Thanks for the info and photos!
