Update. Decided to add the Tiger and the J.G.S.D.F. Type 74 to this thread as they are also 1\35 scale Tamiya motorized series Tank.
I have owned this Sherman over 40 years and The Tiger for about 25 years .The Sherman originally had a metal dual motor gearbox but it got borrowed for another project about 40 years ago and I decided recently to get it going again but could not find a suitable gearbox on ebay so got the idea to use one from a 1\48 scale Tiger tank that was sitting around with no radio gear. So what you see here is a modified gearbox from a smaller scale tank being fitted to the 1\35 Sherman.
The Tiger is an original motorized series tank as well and still has its all metal gearbox.
Here is a recent video of the Sherman doing a narrow bridge crossing with its new lipo battery. https://youtu.be/imslUrkMn4Q
Crossing this narrow bridge requires precision control and excellent tracking. This is at a mild incline and I will increase the incline to find the limit of this and some other Tanks I am working with. I would like to make a "Tank testing and proving ground" Like the one my Dad worked at in the Army (mid 70's) @ Maryland US Army base Aberdeen Proving grounds.
In this video the gradient angle has been increased to about ~35 degree. The Tiger can do this angle easily.
