There are smaller scale tanks there from the" flames of war" game,( 15mm or 1/100 scale tanks).
I started modelmaking with Airfix and matchbox tanks as a child. I progressed to 40k stuff in my teenage years (never played the game, just collected the figures , which I still have). It's good practice and they're so detailed kits.

You had the same start as me, airfix kits, but I collected 40K stuff much later, wasn't around when I was a schoolboy lol. And like you, I never played it, but I did play space hulk with close friends. My missus bought me for a birthday, the complete collection of space wolves when they first came out with the space wolves specific detailing, superb, and they have never been touched since lol.

Shame, but I had other hobbies that took a lot of commitment.

Ok I had to look these up, what is up with the prices? Some of these are over $70 for 1 tank? Then I can get a 6 pack of German tanks for $128.00. 3 Tigers and 3 Panthers. Do they come painted and detailed?

Hmm not sure, only seen Warlord tanks in single or triple packs (3 x panthers/ cromwells for £45) , these are Italeri model kits made for Warlord.
Warlord do make resin/ white metal kits (which i guess from experience are more expensive versions).
I use either the Italeri+warlord or warlord or Rubicon plastic kits.

Yeah I think everyone in the hobby has had the same experience, cut their teeth on AIrfix and just either gone for bigger kits or RC.
The only time I played the 40k game was playing "deathwing" on my commodore amiga and scaring the crap out myself every time a genestealer attacked. I always painted my 40k stuff in a more realistic natural schemes, I used to have the same argument with the GW "pro painter" about not painting mine bright red or blue. ( I was more Dark Angels green as that made sense to me) I devised my own camouflage schemes, even though Camouflage is Heresy LOL (then they introduced Space Marine scouts with camo schemes )...
When I get these Bolt Action figures painted they'll be based on my WW2 British Living history uniforms.

Amazon has them and at MUCH better prices then the companies website! $28 for a Jagdtiger, $28 for a King Tiger, $32 for a Ferdinand. 6 pack of German tanks, 3 Tiger 1's and 3 Panthers and troops for $128.

I may have to order 1 or 2 just to see how they are.
