Timbered House Type A
Timbered House Type A
Long time ago I’ve built a timbered house under construction for our battle field, role model was the house at the picture. Now I’ve picked up this topic again and built again a timbered house – this time in finished state.
The technology will be the same; for the timber work were again 10 mm square bars used. First were the bars cut to length…
…and from that were the single timbering parts built.
Thereafter were these parts with the threshold to the single walls completed.
The single wall parts were glued together…
…and finished was the ground floor.
Wooden nails and a crossbar are helpful for a good stability.
After sanding the wooden nails was the timbering for the ground floor finished.
Continued soon…

Re: Timbered House Type A
Next step is the roof construction. The roof rafters have the shape of a isosceles triangle; 5 of them were built.
Two of them were used as gable end; as first were the measures transfered.
Then receives the gables their timber work…
…and here is the first gable already finished.
Both gables were thereafter with clamps at the side walls temporary mounted,…
…the ridge board added and…
…glued.
Also the gables and the ground floor were at the outsides with wooden nails mounted…
…and the complete roof mounted. In The middle hold clamps the rafter in position.
That’s all for today…
