Hi , I am getting confused when some sellers advertise a Torro or Taigen tank and then say its HL, are these different companies, or different grades of the same models.
Thanks everyone.

Henglong is a toy. It does not have torsion bar suspension and that is worse than Taigen/Torro. Early Mato all metal tanks also had HL type of suspension. But they upgraded this year.

They are all toys. If they were not, we wouldn't be playing with them!
Torsion bar, coil spring, cart spring, swing arm et al are all different types of suspension and all are fine - most road vehicles use coils and or swing arm - so the type alone does not define quality. If they are well designed and well employed, then they are quality. Tangen's new JS-2 will be using coil/swing arm suspension, probably because of the low profile of the tank hull and the need to avoid having the torsion rods cluttering the hulls internal space, just as they did in the real tank!

When Heng Long started making 1/16 Tanks they were Cheap and frankly nasty toys but they got people who could not afford a Tamiya Tank into this hobby and we should say thank you to them for that,
Todays Heng Long 1/16 Tank is a totally different beast,
Its electronics of today are as good as some aftermarket electronics of 5 years ago but much cheaper,
I would still avoid the pot metal gearboxes and the Metal tracks but everything else can be made to work and with the aftermarket upgrades available you can turn a cheap Heng Long Tank into a very nice model, AND cheaper than a Tamiya,
If you check out the various builds on this Forum you will be able to fix any outstanding shortcomings of any Heng Long Tank.

This topic crops up fairly often, as you might expect. Taigen is a more upmarket spin-off from Heng Long; but seems to have access to some of the same moulds. It has also produced some of its own, and this seems to apply to Torro too, as Torro and Taigen have very close links. They're practically identical. Taigen have commissioned product upgrades, though, such as the Airsoft Barrel recoil unit you'll find on its mid-production Tiger 1; an enhancement you won't find on HL Tigers.
Try various search terms for more; but here's a start:

To actually answer your question.
Taigen and Torro are basically spin offs of Heng Long, but, Taigen and Torro have upped their game and produced on the whole better products.
Now, that being said, some advertisers like to mention more than one make in their advertising to get more "hits," also there is a possibility that the tank being sold is a hybrid, made of parts from more than one make.
Without seeing the adverts, one can't really give a good reason. If you're worried about making the advert public for fear that you may miss out on a bargain, I don't mind you sending me a link for it via private message. And don't worry, I'm not wanting to buy any tanks for at least a month or two
