Hi Ive had this HL Tiger a long time and because Im out of work Ive decided to improve it . A lot of ideas came from here , thanks everyone , and from referance I have been collecting . Ive decided to make it a post April 1944 model and most had the turret protection ring fitted . This was like opening a can of worms

. Im all most finished now with the out side . I need to upgrade the RX13 board and fit recoil and a battle system . But because of my work situation , I have to take it steady . Another thing I did was make the bottom waterproof . But Ive replaced that with the Asiatam tub (thanks Rik) . These picts are of the turret location mod . I have put a post up how I did this with more pictures .

Next step was the turret protection ring . I have to thank Steiner for his help with the pictures of original rings and how they were fitted . Please note the possition were the ring ends is incorrect . I have altered this but not got any photos , sorry. I have also reduced the depth of the escape hatch hinge . As when the turret protection ring was fitted this had to be done to clear the ring ( see later picts ). I have put a post up how I did this .

Ive opened the front two hatches and added the small lip around the hole. To do this I just used a round plastic bottle I came across . I had to file the internal diameter to get the hatch to fit correctly

The rear end of the superstructor is incorect so I have altered this by adding a small strip of plastic . I had to reduce some areas of the rear end so that my strip fitted . Were the slots are for the bottom part to join to I reduced it so these were just visable. On this picture you can also see I have changed the rear engine deck to.

Its looking excellent Andy, the mods you've made are awesome! Im still debating the turret ring on mine. Being a Hybrid I can go either way.
Keep up the good work mate, I cant wait to see it finished!
Cheers,
Rik

Hi Rik , I think the Tamiya turret spins correctly so you would only have to fit the ring .
