Electronics questions and other stuff

I have absolutely no idea what i am doing when it comes to electronics so i have some questions:

What is the best motherboard/controller thing for realistic driving and sounds? I'm looking for a way to get my tanks sounding and driving as realistically as possible and would preferably like something i can adjust with relative ease

What is the Best IR battle system? again for relative realism
Do any IR systems support auto cannons like the 20mm KwK 38 L55 of the luchs? (i have a classy hobby 1/16th luchs kit that i was hoping to convert with parts from the 35rctank conversion kit but it will need a different motherboard)
Do any motherboards and IR systems support multiple cannons like on the Maus with its 128mm and coaxial 75mm plus MG 34

Does anyone make Custom sound packs for motherboards? (probably needed for Luchs and Maus)

What is the best exhaust smoke unit? preferably one that is as quiet as possible but also realistic and maybe even proportional to the tanks speed

Are there any Tank clubs in or near Hertfordshire? or anyone who would be willing to help me?

My current tanks are:

Classy Hobby Luchs kit (unbuilt, waiting for 35rctank conversion kit)
Torro pro metal Panther G IR (halfway through conversion to an Ausf D)
Metal Origin Sdkfz 234/2 Puma kit (unbuilt but has Clark TK 24 and needs new gun barrel plus a recoil and elevation system and an exhaust smoke system)
Hooben Maus (came with a Clark TK 24 but needs total structural rebuild and new sounds as its a complete rip off and i am currently in the process of getting a refund through my bank as it was not as advertised, does not work and is very poorly made and Hooben have stopped responding to me. AVOID HOOBEN!)

And finally a plastic HL Tiger 1 with the old transmitter/receiver (currently not running and is fitted with the BB gun)

The best IR Battle system, Id say what comes in the ASP 2

You can fully configure how many hits your tank can take (from one to a hundred)
You have machine gun IR combat for soft skinned vehicles (with impact sounds too)
Repair tank.
You can set how much ammo the tank is carrying to match the real tank (For example in my Sherman I put 80 rounds) once you run out you have to go to refill the amo.
You can use normal explosive rounds (each hit takes one live) or piercing ammo (takes two)
You can also set flak cannons like the luchs you want.
Friend and foe selection, you can set if you can hit or not your own band.
"Black box" you can read after the battle or in your radio when you are battling a report of the battle. Who hit you and so on.
And fully compatible with all the brands at the same time.

The best smoke system, the one you do. Replace the smoke pump with a 25mm fan and done.

I recently made an interesting conclusion about smoke units. I bought the proportional board from RCtank.de to fit onto the stock HL smoker, one may say just out of curiosity. The result was shocking to me. I like the idea of the stock smoker much better than any TARR smokers or PC fan modifications. Because it gives out puffs of smoke instead of just a stream of smoke which is the inevitable result if you have a fan.

The proportional board (comes at about 8EUR) gives you this benefit:
1. At idle speed the pump turns so slowly that you cannot hear it (this is the first objection that people have to this smoker). It is muted by engine idle sound and can only be heard when the tank sounds are completely off.
2. At higher throttle positions it pumps quicker but the noise is cancelled by the engine sounds (at least if you have a decent speaker)

So I believe it is a superb solution for the stock RX units.

As concerns boards, Elmod fusion comes as realistic as they get and when you have a bluetooth adapter it is super easy to customise it from an Android device literally on the run. But the price isnt low.

Thanks for the info, i will definitely look into that proportional smoke board and i think Elmod will be perfect for my tanks (and armoured car)

Do Elmod Controllers allow for Auto cannons and Multi gun tanks? or even just an IR main gun and a BB unit for the secondary on the Maus?

I think it uses Jagdtiger sounds as even on high volume the engine does not sound powerful enough for the V12 S boat engine the Maus used

I could be wrong though

You said it is fully compatible with other brands, does that mean the auto cannon of the luchs would work against a stock Torro IR system for example?
Are they adjustable in terms of turret traverse speed, reverse speed e.t.c. like Elmod controllers?
Is there a Luchs sound pack for them or if not do you know anyone that could make one for me?

Hi, yes, the autocannon should work. Not sure how accurate would be to kill a pershing with a luchs autocannon, but hey!.
Adjust turret traverse speed, reverse speed and so is non configurable in the board but it can be done with the radio. I have an elmod fusion pro too, and almost everything that I can configure with the Elmod software, I can do the same with every aftermarket board just using the radio.

I dont know any luchs 2 sound pack. Is a quite "dark" rc tank... I guess you will have to create your own sounds, or use panzer III or panzer 38T that should not be very different.
