Looking for Jagdpanzer IV engine hatches
Looking for Jagdpanzer IV engine hatches
I am looking for the metal brake inspection hatches as shown in the picture below.
Note: they are different from the standard P-IV hatches (shorter and wider)
See the longer standard PIV hatches below showing the difference.
Can anybody tell me where to get the JP-IV version ?

Can you not cut off the cowels on the top, shorten the hatches then glue the cowels back on?
I'm thinking that unless Ludwig sells them, you will have a hard job finding them.

Hi, yes I may convert the PIV hatches myself using the resin cowels of the conversion kit. The metal PIV cowels are slightly narrower than the JPIV...Son of a gun-ner wrote:Can you not cut off the cowels on the top, shorten the hatches then glue the cowels back on?

Well, another option might be to find the appropriate Tamiya sprue for the Jagpanzer which contains the inspection hatches. Mind you that could be very expensive. I just sold the 'D' sprue for that model to a member here. That one has the front and rear panels on it, but I can't recall if it also included the hatches. You could fabricate them, of course, that would be a decent solution (make them from styrene...the hinges can be bought from Asiatam) or, as has been suggested modify existing ones.

I saw these on the Asiatam website a moment ago. They're resin, but they are for the Jagdpanzer IV, and only eleven Euros (+ post, of course..)

Got the job done by shortening and widening the metal PIV hatches.43rdRecceReg wrote: Well, another option might be to find the appropriate Tamiya sprue for the Jagpanzer which contains the inspection hatches.
