Then, I reached your Tank Club page...
Well, clearly Graz is not bulging at the seams with RC tank, and WW2 enthusiasts as, for the moment, anyway-
you are the sole member.
Well, can only get better. eh? At least you have a member.

Sooner, or later they will come. 'Build a (Battle)field, and they will come!'
They must be a boring, stick-in-the-mud, lot in Graz.
I can see why your Heart is still in England.
Hi mate, thanks for the kind words, I am more than glad you like it. I have the blog a bit abandoned due to a horrible lack of time, but I am planning to create a couple of interesting entries next month, and update some others. IMHO I think the smoke machine entry is quite interesting and its worth reading it... It will be updated soon with my new machines.
And regarding the tank club... Well, not much I can say... People here in Austria is... Lets say complicated, hermetic.
In Spain there are many events, where everybody is invited to participate. Those events are open and told in advance so people can assist as a player or as a watcher, and most of the times for free... In the UK definitely seems to be similar. Here you notice most of the events once they are gone. Those are usually private clubs that wont let you take part on it.
One year ago I was lucky enough to find an event in Viena, so I went there with my oldest son and the two best of my tanks, I drove 450kms and showed up there. I paid the entrance fee, and when I spoke with the guy in charge of the tank area, I was just basically kicked away. I explained him the situation, that we were looking for somebody to play with for years and it was really important for me (you cant imagine how important, Ill explain other day), and I even begged to be able to stay with them just for a while... But they told me they were a private club and if I did not leave they were going to call the police... My son started crying and me too (but I managed to somehow swallow my tears)...
My son was so disappointed that I had to act a bit like in the "life is beautiful" movie... I dont want to swank of my tanks, but they were vastly superior in every aspect to their all stock (even stock paint!) heng longs... So I picked my tanks, my son, we moved a bit away and we started battling full volume. After a while we had way more public around us than in the event (Revenge! HA!) lol
But that made me almost throw the towel finding people here, and really made me wish to go back to Spain or to UK... But now thanks to God I managed to have my own garden so I can build my own battlefield (I am on it) and to play with my sons... Everybody is invited to come and join me some day, and I hope some day people here in this city wants to spend a day in my small scale city.
Of course you, british guys, are all invited.
