One of us absolutely has to build this. It's from the movie, "The 3 Stooges In Orbit".



And I found video, at 0:54 you see it running on the ground. Makes me wonder what happened to the movie prop. Hiding in a barn somewhere? What a cool find that would be. Those tracks Will was using on his WPL halftrack project might work well, but I thinking you'd have to totally scratchbuild the sub. I've never seen a 1/16 scale sub of any kind, but there might be one out there. Somewhere. And making it fly would be beyond me, but just cruising around on the ground with the main rotor spinning would look very cool.

Most Helicopters have hinged Main rotor Blades, all you do is remove one of the two blade retaining bolts in the main rotor hub so they can be folded out of the way when they are not needed,
The main engine Propeller/Screw could have its mount hinged to turn it into a tail rotor.
Weapons would be Torpedoes in the water and ground to air or air to air missiles using the torpedo tubes.
I am surprised there are not fleets of these in the US armed forces already

Many, many years ago l built a metallic red JS-3 funny car (dragster), it had all the details you'd expect from both the car and the tank, including a huge blown V8. My parents told me when l married and moved out they would care for all my models. Yeah........

Given that British culture gave rise to Monty Python, Charlie Chaplin, Stan Laurel and more you'd expect plenty of weirdness in the invention dept., Gary, and I think we don't disappoint. This offering from Vickers is a wee rib-tickler. It looks a bit like Bren-equipped armoured wheelchair. The Bren was for unwelcome critics, and laughing bystanders.

Shhhh.

I've always liked the Bren. It's one of my dream projects, but I'd have to go 1/6 scale. It was just too small in 1:1 to get enough stuff in there in 1/16 scale. That Vickers is very cool, and also a possibility in 6th scale. But I've got more on the shelf now than I could finish in two lifetimes.

Hey, I've seen lots of surplus kubel and schwimmwagens, are there any clubs over there for Bren carriers? That would be a very cool thing to own.

Yep, Gary, the Bren was a brilliant weapon. That's one on my 'To Fire list', having already managed, the Luger, K98, Lee-Enfield .303, etc. Deactivated ones aren't too hard to find, if you want to model from one.
Didn't Alwyn build a great Universal Carrier/Bren Carrier a couple of years ago? I'm pretty sure he did, and he may still have the plans for it.
Ok, well here's another brace of oddball Brit creations:
This tracked trench-making giant might have been useful in WW1, but not in WW2. Churchill is on hand, with ever-present ceegar to hand, and no doubt a skinful of champagne and brandy coursing round his arteries.
No doubt he could have used it as a mobile wine-cellar. This one would make a very novel and do-able RC model: Both men (driver and gunner) had to lay side by side in the elevating arm. The sting at the end (and maybe it should have been called 'Scorpion') was a pair of Bren Guns. The chassis itself was based on the Universal carrier, but the positioning of the crew created motion sickness, apparently. Imagine going at 30mph (its impressive top speed) at full elevation. That would make most people chuck up..especially approaching a low bridge

Good afternoon,
I would quite like to have one of those mini armored Carden-Lloyd tractors for trips down to the mailbox in inclement weather. I wouldn't even have to open my Gates, just run right over the neighbors fence and down the drive I could go.
