This is an extended report on the painting of the BMP-1.

The BMP-1 is applied two Tamiya enamel coats as primer to seal the plasticard and putty, with sanding after the first coat to remove any scratch and glue residue that become apparent.
The model is then applied a coat of Tamiya Olive Green acrylic.
The camo is applied with a mixture of Tamiya Desert sand and Khaki acrylics,
Black pigments are inserted into all the low corners.
Dark Steel pigments are dry brushed to all raised corners. A coat of Pigment FIxer is then applied directly on the model to seal the pigments in place, and it also gives a satin look and feel that I like.

European Earth pigments are applied freely to the model. This will create a dust like finish to lighten the black pigments and represent a tank in action.
The interior has been finished in Tamiya flat white for the walls and roof, grey for the floor, and weathering with black pigments. I have seen many pictures of the turret basket in a colorful orange red. But I didn't know if this was for training purposes or also in the field. In the end, I decided against putting such color on my tank as I didn't think it looked good anyway.

The 1/24 scale Sherman VS hard track are looking good. Although the chevron pattern is not authentic, there are few alternatives at this time. I am guessing that the upcoming Classy Hobby M5 Stuart in 1/16 scale could be an option for tracks and sprockets.
Tracks were painted flat black and given Track Rust pigments, then dry brushed with Dark Steel pigments
Ok, the core of the model is finished. But I have a few improvements in mind for exterior and interior.

Next step is to start the Soviet crew and infantry riders.
