The Stuart is still in a holding pattern and the RTR Taigen\Torro IS-2 Detail Build is complete so it is time to move on with works in progress. This truck deserves some love and as parts have reached a tipping point, I will begin again with it. I did some research as to what it was really modeled after. Make\Marques like Zis this and Gaz that came up but while those trucks did certainly exist ( even a Chinese 3rd Generation removed version ) an American truck was the genesis for this lovely. The 40's version of the International Harvester KR-11 was a lend lease truck sent to the Sovs during WWII. They liked it well enough that it became the basis for the ZIS-150 afterwards. Here are some links to pages concerning the vehicle:

Tonight, I took the truck apart and took some photos of the pieces. I have rounded up some detail bits from the DioramaFreak store on Ebay and electrics from the usual Chinese Suspect sites. A better 180 motor is on the way to slow the vehicle down. A light set will give me rear tail lights and headlights. I have a good, metal gear servo for the Steering and am looking for a free day to go to a local Hobby Shop to get a three channel controller and receiver with a matching ESC. I considered turning the truck into a tanker but decided against it. I have a nice 1/16 French light artillery piece kit that will look great under tow once assembled. I also like the idea of ammo stowage boxes, crates and gear in a rustic wooden flat bed with slat walls.
