I was wondering if i could use the taigen flash unit with the RX-18 without any major problems? I've hooked it up to the board and to a broken airsoft unit, and the tank would recoil back and the flash would happen, but i dont know if it will interfere with the HL IR system.

I've just converted my wifes KT to IR and fitted the high intensity flash, it works fine. Only thing I had to do was put a stop on the airsoft unit so that it didnt slam shut on the flash wires

I am in the process of finishing up an HL Pz III to Stug III Ausf A2 conversion and decided to go with the flash and recoil unit. It just plugged into the existing HL wiring and MFU, no problems. I can say that the flash unit is by far the brightest I've seen. The LED's are inside the aluminum barrel, and it'll still leave blue blobs on your eyes!

As far as the IR, I don't think that it would cause problems, but I haven't added that to the stug yet.

I'm doing something similar but with a dead airsoft unit, though i don't know what to do with one of the wires on the high intensity flash unit

The larger plug that the small one comes out of

I'm pretty sure that connects to the gun switch. You would of had a 2 pin plug that fitted into the right side two pins on the RX18. That plug goes into the loose socket from the flash unit. The yellow and white wires

This shows the IR Recoil unit, but the wire is still connected to the switch that originally plugged into the right side two pins of the RX18 5 pin socket
