Memorial Truck

Recently, my best friend lost his battle with depression. This hit me pretty hard, as we were recently reconnecting over the last half year. We spent our time watching Star Trek, other hobbies, and you guessed it. RC trucks.

I got him started with a WPL C14, as Toyota trucks were his favorite. Once that arrived, he set about customizing, and upgrading it. However, at the time of his passing, his truck was disassembled awaiting replacement parts.

I have since gotten off my butt, and finished the truck. Without further ado, I give you Andy's Truck.

This is a WPL C14 kit version with some custom paint, and a bed made from my original B1 truck. It's running on a HobbyKing HK-T6A V2 radio, with the kit 180 motor, a larger 2300Mah battery, and metal drive shafts.

The stowage is extra HL Pershing stuff I had lying around, so I gave them to him.

The truck now has the last planned upgrade that I installed myself during reassembly.

That's right. This bad boy has 4 wheel steering! The truck is now 99% complete. The only thing left is to rewire the LED's for the light bar and headlights, as the last set burnt out.

The next upgrade will probably be metal axles and bigger mud tires.

Here's a short video of it running. Only slight alignment issues sometimes. I'm thinking I'll use a separate channel for each steering servo, instead of using the current Y connector.

I am sorry to hear of your friends passing.
Depression is still widely miss-understood out there.

Andy's truck looks cool, rear wheel steering aswell just makes it even more unique.
Make sure you continue to enjoy it & keep it running in his memory

Chase, I have several different 3D print files for tail light buckets if you need them.
