Being a Tank newb would appreciate definitions of some of the abbreviations used in the Tank community.
WSN
Ibu1-2
Rx-18
Etc.etc.

WSN made, or still may make, tanks in 1/16, so that's just a brand name, like HL for Heng Long.
IBU stands for Italian Battle Unit, and the 1 & 2 are like V1 and V2, just an upgraded version for the IBU2 and the IBU3.
RX-18 is the stock mother board (or MFU, for multi function unit) that they put in HL tanks before they went to 2.4 GHz transmitters.
Hope that helps.

And what is the name of the 2.4Ghz unit? I thought it was RX-18 too.

The Receiver 18 ie RX18 comes in what Heng Long call Generations,
The latest Receiver 18 is the 4th Generation.
Does that help clear the confusion.

All the Heng long MFUs are known as the rx18, but once they went to the 2.4, they stopped printing rx18 right on the mfu itself. I'd have to open my Sherman to know for sure but I don't think they print anything on there to tell you what version it is. I think they're up to 5.3 now. I got one of their t-34s when they first came out with 2.4 and noticed that it no longer said rx18, but instead said 2.4 GHz, and I'm pretty sure that was the V1. I also have the latest, which I still think is the 5.3, but I'd have to open the Sherman to get you more info.
Hope that helps.

Also, if you go back to when they printed RX 18 right on the mfu, those tanks had a separate receiver board that plugged into the RX 18. When they came out with 2.4 the mfu was a self-contained unit and did not have a separate receiver any longer. Older rx 18s were the ones that used the crystal in both receiver board and transmitter.

Info like this should be on a stickied 'FAQ' thread. It's stuff that would really help new tank owners, and personallyt...stuff that I didn;t know or had to learn through a lot of searching.
Guys in the know will use the abbreviations.....and it's easy to forget that there are lots of people who simply don;t know what they mean.

I knew there was a good reason I liked static models.
