IR tank battles

Hi Guys,
finally the new Taigen boards have arrived downunder in Aus.
In our club we are currently using a mix of set ups, Clark, Asp, Elmod, Tamiya and modified HL, but they are all Tamiya ir compatible.
Several guys from the club have asked whether these new Taigen gen 3 boards will be suitable in our ir tank battles.
The boards themselves look like they will be great. Good sound and the ability to use your own transmitter.
But I have not found any info on the new Taigen gen 3 boards to say if their ir system would be able to mix with the Tamiya ir system.
Hope someone can shed some light on this before we purchase them.
Cheers
Steve

My understanding is they're not and taigen have no plans in that direction. Not sure if RCTA sell an interface for tamiya battling as they did with out similar products previously.

Thanks Tom,
RCTA used to sell a "mako" board that would convert HL tanks to make them Tamiya IR compatible.
I will look into it and see if it is also compatible with Taigen.
Cheers

Ian at http://www.rctankelectronics.com sell a number of RCTA electrical products including the "MAKO" Board which is a bit silly for an Australian but at least you know an alternative dealer if RCTA cannot help.
