Affordable 1/6 Scale WW2 German Jerry Cans , Oil Drums

I've recently been looking at 1/6 Scale Jerry Cans for my Panzer II build & one thing comes to mind. These items are no longer in production so they cost a fortune. Oil Drums seem easier to get hold of but are just as expensive.
I've looked at Shapeways & I know if I had £100+ I could get up to 8 DRAGON WWII German Water Jerry Cans. They must be cheaper surely?
Any ideas folks?

I think in 1/6 scale I would make a mould out of Plaster of Paris or Resin and make my own.

I am seriously considering moulding the Jerry Cans. I have bought a set of the most reasonably priced Jerry Cans but it still cost me £40. If I can buy some moulding silicone & resin I can at least try to make a batch but I suspect the easiest way is a one piece mould?

3D printing is an option, if you have a printer of course, RC tanks Australia have very nice stl files that can be scaled to any size you desire, I’ve had very good results in 1/16, in 1/6 they would be awesome!

I've made my mind up, i'll see if they can be moulded. I've bought 5 real Jerry cans for slightly more than the cost of the 1/6 scale cans but i'll have to see how much a raw resin version will cost me once I've moulded one. The only thing that worries me is if it so easy , why isn't Ebay awash with Resin Moulded Jerry Cans?

I was just looking at a set of press steel Jerry Cans {no longer available}, makes me wonder how many are out there in collections? Moulding will be difficult but not impossible?
