Hi To little to late, they have destroyed, hundreds of forums by stopping 3rd party postings .Don't think anyone will trust them now .I wont use them . people have moved on to other ways of posting photos , they should have thought about it before they blocked 3rd party posts.

regards pete

Does this mean that Photobucket will reinstall pictures they deleted from the Forum ? Or are they gone forever?

Screw em!

I took all my stuff off there and saved it back to my computer. I'll just post pictures to the forum, it's not that hard.

Guess they figured out that that dick move was not in their best interest!

My understanding is that if your have not closed your account or deleted your pictures for US $29 a year your pictures will "reappear".

All the photos in my Hetzer thread that were blocked are now visible once again and I haven't given them any money. The way I understand it, if I don't pay up they'll be blocked again, but I don't know how long it will be before they're once again blocked.

There is no way, even if hell freezes over, that I would go back to using photobucket. Any organisation that tries to hold customers to ransom is one to be avoided. I always keep a copy of my photos and only use facilities like pbucket and imgur for forum postings. Imgur works just fine for me and enables high res images.

Am I the only one that never seemed affected by their changes? Their website has been unusable for years now due to adverts and popups, so I used the app instead, and my photos never stopped showing up

I had the $29,- ( or something) subscription for years, and my pics never disappeared. However, they kèpt stating I had a ‘grace period’ and that kept moving forward in the year. They also never re-imbursed my subscription fee for this year, although they promised to do so. All of that was an indication something was afoot.

“Under new management” is an eufemism for “former management kicked out unceremoniously” Took more time than I thought, though. The blithering stupidity of a short-sighted move like these monstrous price-hikes in a market where you’re not the only provider of picture cloud storage.. well..

But, I’m afraid their reputation is tarnished forever. No-one in their right mind will èver trust Photobucket again. The result of an arrogant management & marketing department that thought they were “indispensible” and could get away with anything.

$20 something is reasonable, and I pay that gladly for their service, nòt $99.- and nòt $340.- or whatever, especially for non corp people. They’re still pushing that $99.- plan as ‘competitive and attractive, though. No. Bloody. Way. Not for the small amount of storage I need.
