Object 212A 3d printable shell.

Post by Giganaut »

its been too long.

Hi everyone

I feel like i want to give away this Object 212A heavy self propelled gun based off of the KV-1 chassis as a 3d printable kit for anyone who wants to make one once i finish the 3d printable shell model IN 1:16 SCALE.

I'll make it incorporate with existing Heng Long KV-1 parts so it will be cheaper to build with ready made parts.
for the assembly, im thinking more of a hook and latch lock instead of hull screws.

Anyone wants to contribute idea to this model on how the internal gun mechanism and pivots work? i will update on the progress of this shell hull if anyone is interested.
any ideas to help design the tank's 3d printed parts in sketches, do share :D

cause this vehicle will be a mix of 3d printed parts and existing tank parts already made available. since the KV tank is widely produced by HL

Image

i will need bearing sizes for the drive shaft also to incorporate

i need help designing the gun's elevation mechanism, any ideas how to fit one in?

progress on the 3d printable shell as of 26th may 2018
-fixed the design issue on the gun elevation mount and it's shield.
-located the exact gun trunnion mount. elevation will be limited to 15 degrees. as stated in the exact blueprints.
-added driving gear's housing and mud scraper mount.

That's a very nice looking model you are starting, it will need a modified KV1 chassis with an extra set of road wheels though.

I'll be following along with interest.

could chop the engine mounting with it's drive wheel slot from the back and swap it to the front,
that or just use a completely custom hull with all the slots and mountings to accommodate all the other parts from HL KV-1E model entirely cause the suspension arms are pointed backwards.

either way it will be the choice of the builder, im just here to provide said model and probably build it one day after i finish perfecting and fixing the bugs i have on my FCM F1 model.

I did the same thing with my PZI and PZII, thought I had them all backed up but they turned out to be old files that still need working on.

good news everyone! i found a backup for it. and thank goodness the progress differences is not that significant/ far off.

all i need now is to put holes into the suspension mounting, and it'll be off to sketchup 3d warehouse to be shared.
