For now I got myself some cement-filled ceramic resistors of the right value, and am going to try to get the small ceramic block off without breaking the windings.

Well, that’s rather disappointing.
However, when I start from the main site, and fill-in an actual EU adress, the end result for orders outsìde the UK is still £18,-
Nâh, I gave up on farnell, and home brewn smokers/wirewound resistors for now. I’ll keep an eye on fleabay and/ or Amazon and a plethora of China sites.

Don't give up so easy. I need some anyway, so I'll order a few. They're ridiculously cheap, and when they get here I'll put two or three in a letter and send them to you. It will take time, but we'll get there.

Given a few asploding/burning/scorched experiments, 4 or 5 pieces would do for now. (Got 7 tanks to fit with a wòrking smoker, though.)
