Having just got hold of a 21st Century M5 Stuart off eBay I intend to bring it back to life. The tank wasn’t in to bad condition and at least ran on its old electrics. There are a few cracks in the plastic but some will disappear with the side skirts and the others will get repaired.
Looks as if it was dropped at some time but I’m not looking to use the hedge cutter. Getting great inspiration from Painless’s build and others online.
Electronics will get looked at later but they will be getting upgraded.
Finally to start with I couldn’t get over the size step up from 1/16 but getting used to it now so on we go.

A few of us were looking at it. Like you say , the damage will be easy enough to repair & you will end up with great looking Tank.
Are you going to motorise the gun elevation? I have two Tanks & i'm going to try & get one gun at least to fire with recoil & elevation.

A great find there and let me say with all honesty, RUUUUUUN! While you STILL CAN!!!! *chuckles* Seriously, There are still tons of parts and kit available for the Stuart and I have a complete stock upper and some parts left over from using what Mike sent me so if you need an assist, drop me a PM or ask in your thread here. Hi,yep I was thinking about trying to get it elevating with a Heng Long elevation motor and airsoft/ recoil unit. Not sure if it will work but I’ll look into it.

It's a 12v system in mine so i'm not sure what electrics will be required to get a 9v system to work along side.

The tear down has begun, sand skirts have gone along with the grousers and turret side plate. Had a play with some added weld lines. Loads of ideas but it’s going to be a slow rebuild. A few photos of progress so far.

Thanks for the compliments, not making as much progress as I would like but there’s no great rush. The lower hull on yours is looking great.

Got some more work done on the Stuart, inside has been gutted. The fire walls have not been added yet a transmission tunnel will be created for the spare cut down turret ring. The motor cables will also travel through the tunnel. Resin and white metal parts have been added from armorpax.
Lots more to do and fit the ECA resin parts to the bogies.

HahHah! That is looking familiar! You really have altered the inside of the lower. Those firewalls will give it back stiffness. Good, solid work. Following along.
