I use them with the alloy blocks and the longer shaft set.

Kieth, it depends on what you want to do with the tank. KT0014 idler drums are well worth the money for any use. I would also recommend the KT0033 Idler Shaft Set. It is a little longer than the Tam shaft, and a little more meat on the shaft itself. This provides more support for the idler arm and keeps it straight, enhancing track retention. If you are using the stock tracks these two parts will suffice.
If you are using metal tracks and will be fighting your KT, then it is also recommended you get the KT0039, a massive machined aluminium block that really keeps the idler arms where they should be.
Cross hull braces are also strongly recommended. You can make them from flat brass stock and attach with two bolts per side at each corner. See photo.
For heavy use, a DP07 trans plate is also recommended. It goes under the trans systems, and keeps them straight and aligned.
The long hull of the KT is prone to flex, which misaligns the entire drive and track system. These suggestions will aleviate that problem and keep the tracks where they should be, to wit, on the tank.
The grey plasticard seen in the photos is to close off the gaping holes in the rear of the hull. Keeps dust out. Also, make a foam rubber losenge to go around the trand output shaft where passes thru the hull to the drive sprocket. This keeps dust and dirt out of the hull and your trans systems. Just trim the losenge to fit the side of the TU. Also seal the front hull lower seam from inside before you install the trans systems. Use either silicone or rope sealer.
