Hi jhamm,

The last order I placed with them was around 4 months ago, I did ask at the time about shipping but the reply was that it was the standard shipping cost, the 3€ item I placed in my cart this morning was just to see if the shipping rate was calculated on the order total but it was not, placing a large order I can stomach a higher rate but not for smaller items, there are a lot of item's that I would have liked to buy from them at one time or another but I just couldn't justify the shipping so I've tried to source them elsewhere.

Cheers, Lee.

Asiatam are known for not answering emails...
I have been on the same boat, I wanted to order something like 5 euros in pieces, and shipping was about 20. Of course I did not buy the parts.

I think there is no excuse, and sellers ship with high shipping charges but they get an extra cut in the shipping. Do you think a company has the same shipping prices as us, mere mortals? No way, in most of the cases their prices are way lower, and we just pay an extra.

One month ago I sent some parts from Austria to the UK, and the shipping was about 2 euros. It arrived in like 3 days. So go and figure.

There is no excuse.

Hi Lee,
a registered Mail to GB (no tracking) Envelope 23cm x 12,5cm x 2cm weight up to 500gr costs postage 6,20€
+ packaging arroud 2,-€ for bubble wrap envelope

Morning Rad, their lack of answering emails and order acknowledgement is another problem with them but seeing that this was a thread about shipping costs I stuck with that rant :haha: I can confirm you shipping from Austria to the UK because I received the items :D sent from you on a Monday and received by me on the Wednesday of the same week ,now that's service

Cheers, Lee.

Of course that is cheaper.
But it is my time and I would have to go to the post office ...
You do not know the German post offices - there is always a lot going on there.
Since you always need 15 - 30 minutes to give up the registered envelope.

But I notice, the discussion leads to nothing.
For the hobby you have to have money...
If you do not have enough money, then you can not buy everything.

At the end of the day every business and supplier chooses how they run themselves and with who and how they ship their products , all I can say is that they must be doing well if they can afford to have customers choose not to use them over their shipping costs and that's just my opinion,

Cheers, Lee.

Have you ever had your own business?
The infrastructure at your location limits what options you have!
In order to get good prices with DHL you have to send out per day 300 packages / 500kg ....
This is a lot for a small business.
