Hello Lert.

I have just ordered a HL Sherman, and being a fan of Kelly's Hero's was thinking of doing an Oddball Sherman, I am glad I have followed your thread yours looks very good sadly my paint skills are poor so dont think mine effort will be any match for yours.

As with Oddball's Sherman you are recreating the uniqueness that gave us all a good chuckle when we watched the movie. Now if you can get it to fire some "paint" filled rounds! :O

Great work Left.

Hi, i found your build of Oddballs Sherman very interesting and would very much like to do a similar type of adaption to a Heng Long Sherman myself. (may not turn out as nice as yours has).
Being a lover of film and wishing to create a small part of it, i was wondering are the mantels you bought
still available from the USA.
Ive loved seeing what you have done with yours and feel inspired to attempt a similar project.
Would greatly appreciate any advice and tips.

In my Oddball's Sherman turret is from Taigen Sherman. Thread protector was made by my father on lathe.

That thread protector on the barrel is a work of art! Tell your father that if he ever gets bored in retirement, he may have a future in manufacturing high quality aftermarket parts!

I'll second that, Mike. That's a beautifully controlled bit of lathe-turning there.

Thanks. My father is RC modeller from over 40 years ;) Few years ago he had stroke and he is making almost everything one handed.

All the more remarkable, in that case. :)
Mind you, Beethoven still managed to compose music, when he had gone almost stone-deaf.
