Random tank build and worrying question

right well today i was really bored so i started building a tank out of meccano, a bit of wood, and some old heng long parts, ive made a working chassis which ive driven round the garden and it works better than expected :) tho tickering on one side needs to be done due to the track coming off the sprocket :S (pictures shall be up soon)
anyway when i drove it round my room i noticved a burning smell which my dad noticed when i was driving it outside, so i looked at the tank and a big puff of smoke came out of the curcuit board  :-\ thought it had over heated and broken but the tank was and still is working! does anyone know what could have caused this and if its something very bad?
cheers

Could be a wire touching the meccano, or part of a printed circuit board resting on metal somewhere?

Do you have a pic of a burnt part that we could see?

their was only one wire touching another which was the right gear box moirs but i  fixed that before this happened, none of the parts are burnt one part on the circuit board tho was very hot :S

Hi,
at a guess I would say that you overloaded the board and it has burnt out. How heavy is your tank? is it considerably heavier than a Henglong?

and no not really it weighs alot less that any heng long tank as all it is is a bit of wood with heng long parts on it. tried to make it a feather weight tank
