I have been using CURA 3.3 Beta and so far no problems. Everything I print is at least as good as 3.2.1 and in most cases better . Could it be one of your settings?

Looks good AT.

I noticed you're using the small bottles of Plastic weld

You can save yourself a fortune if you buy it in a 500ml tin-

I'm still working on the return roller, it's not quite to my satisfaction yet.

Looking great mate.
Do you juice any type of bearing on those?

Cant wait for the turret.

I´m now working on getting the fils from warthunder printable. but they are even harder to extract from the game.

Hi Tim, no I haven't put bearings on any of the wheels, they are running on 3mm bolts and they spin very freely. If you do get chance to do the files for the upper hull minus the turret I would be very grateful, the castings on the forward hull particularly look really tricky and I'm not looking forward to getting those curved shapes right in openscad!

I'm having major grief with the return rollers. If I do them to scale then the KV1 tracks won't fit over them

Image

If I do them to fit the KV1 track they are enormously out of scale. I'm tring to find a happy medium that kind of works. The saving grace is that the return rollers will be under the side skirts but it still offends my modelling senses not to make them to scale! :{ :/

Well after a frustrating couple of hours trying various things and in the end compromising scale for functionality, here is the return roller design.

It offends my sensibilities every time I look at the dratted thing but it has to be the size it is to work and there's no getting around it! :-<

The springs have arrived for the suspension so at least I can get on with something more productive.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Horstman suspension

suspension sitting normally

raised one side

both compressed

with track

and the wheels all line up - what a relief  :D

For those interested the springs are 9.5mm od, 7.5mm id and can be bought in any length from here

Just waiting for the long shaft gearboxes from forgebear who should have them in a couple of weeks.
