Anyone tried building this servo-operated gearbox?

It looks as if it might be of more interest to 1:6 and larger scale builders, but could be scaled down. Here's the designer's website:

It can be made with off the shelf gears, and basic tools, apparently- but access to a hobby lathe is recommended.
Personally, I prefer the planetary gear type of arrangement we've seen of late..

Good morning,
Reminds me of the mechanical marvel that is the early Tamiya King Tiger gearbox and clutch. I've seen this Stuart in videos and briefly considered going with gasoline as a motive power source but decided I did not want a scale dune buggy tank. ( The General was really pushing for it )

Yes, it does look a little old school, Painless.
Here's a website I came upon yesterday. Again, it's probably dated, but still has some clever ideas and neat looking gearbox solutions to offer. Achieving credible speed in a Tamiya tank (mostly early models) is dealt with in depth, and still has relevance..
