Might have modern power plant for the Kingtiger :D This could solve the lack of low end power for crawling and turning.
Going to strip this down

Fitted the motor out of a Dewalt impact driver 10.8V. The motor fitted well ,even had the fixing holes and the bearing housing on front same size as the hole in the gearbox . Another plus it has a fan to cool the motor. Test run perfect, original motor on side.
Any longer and the terminals would foul the gearbox.

Very innovative use of that drill motor mate, and even more amazing it was a perfect fit after destroying the drill to try it !
How far from paint are you ?

Hi Herman A long way off painting, its still winter here . Looking at a new airbrush and compressor, old setup is a Revell plastic box set. Have a small one to build and paint first to get some ideas.

Next up going to fit a Leopard turret ring, first a practice run on a Tiger 1. Turret first as it looks to be easier than the hull deck . A Tiger 1 deck needs some adjustment , or have they fixed the offset turret ring? If its a disaster i could leave the old turret gearing.
Have had this for ages

A far bit of measuring to do , upper ring is almost same size that helps.

Time for some changes, the old central turret gearing is going. Think i have sorted out cutting the hull for a Leopard ball bearing turret ring.
Along time sorting the ring for centre . If the plastic servo gears strip will change to one with metal gears. :D
A tie-wrap and servo tape for now .The servo bracket is a hard metal burned out a drill bit, time for some good twist drills.

Turret test one revolution slow 75 sec, fast 15 sec. Now to find out a KTs real time speed of rotation.
Just love how you can adjust settings with an Elmod board.
