I agree the speed is just a bit erratic and not easy to control.
For me I reckon it be best to eliminate the drive circuits from.the standard controller.
Get an old 2.4ghz tx and wire in the 27mhz board for the other controls and run the drive off another remote. In effect I basically mean making up my own tx
Think this is easier that trying to figure our how to run the winch motors off a std rx unit.

very nice on lipo......for a good bit i thought you were going thru the bridge....

ive been thinking the same with the tx/rx,but also thinking setting up my turnigy 9x on tankerx firmware and going full rc conversion....lol.
no funds so for now is.

after all these years she back on tracks....i forgot how much i hated the track clutches.
i plan to made side door open and stuff the 7 cell between the hoist.

i spoke about some 3/8th aluminium round bar added to bucket for tighter grip,and what i had to remove to get the boom to the ground....along with more boom rope.

my son and had a blast for almost 2 hours non stop play,grabbing all his toys and dropping them into a laundry basket.....fun.
for a few mins we lost boom up,but it came back no issues,now we lost boom down and i smelled burnt curciut board instantly

.
im certin no boards are available.
being im broke i dont have too many options,ill pull her apart and see if i can identify the fried part and find a replacement,or disable the tracks again and use the track controller to work the boom......i dont wanna disable the beast yet.

Very cool. I was thinking about hinging the access panels for quicker access

Shame about circuits. But i guess they are not up to hob of constant heavy work.
A full RC conversion would be great but I not soo good on these new electronic kits etc

I just looked at the control board,noway i can change the microscopic part that blew,been hunting another board on the net....cant find one.so i guess ill save for hobby grade conversion one day.
I did find replacement tracks.
Not sure if it was the over voltage or the long work load that killed it.but to be honest 1.5 hours is a long time running for any cheap rc.

ive thought hard about this....disabling the track.
id rather have all the other functions workin after the 2 hours of fun we had yesterday.
so im taking the next step and installing a big voltage regulator,a power switch and a cooling fan for the regulator.
gonna regulate the crane to 6.5-7 volts
gonna power the main hoist with right stick,and boom with the left stick.also thinking bout using a heng long stock control board and transmitter to control the tracks,and other functions like sound,lights.....and if all that works out....ill design and print a controller case to house both transmitters components into 1 compact unit.a transmitter with 4 sticks and a few buttons/switches....sounds easy right.....

done and passed bench test,regulator set to 7 volts,fan recieves full 9 volts.she has less power than im used to on 7 volts,but a lil pep from the stock 6 volts.
i had a max lift of 1.6 lbs before the tracks would leave the ground on low boom,now with less voltage im expecting less capacity......les power and rpm may stall hoist.
i didnt install the switch,because im gonna unplug the battery every run anyway.
