Ad bar

Has anyone else had a change to the ad's shown at the top of each page? It always used to be ad's for vendors related to the tank hobby, welsh dragon models etc logged on today and I seem to be getting random completely unrelated ad's. Has something on the forum changed, or is it a sign of something up with my laptop?

Same here, think it was advertising military records?

At least it's not just me then. But it is very annoying. Can the admins of the page get rid of the advert section, and just put in permanent pics hyperlinked to the relevant vendor? A certain vendor for each page or changed each week or something?

I don't see anything?

Then again, I use ABP ad-blocking as an extension for my Chrome browser.

It's called Ad Tracking, whereby online advertisers appear to pursue you from one website to the next, with details of that camera you just looked at...or lacy underwear :O There are tools to prevent tracking, but in your preferred browser there's usually an option to prevent ads tracking you. In Safari, for example, it's here:

Chances are, though, that somewhere in a days's browsing you've omitted to untick a box that allows those devious advertising hounds to snap at your heels.. :/ @)

I am afraid I am also using ad-blocker in Firefox, so I never see any ads on any site I visit. I also have a cookie killer as well so no one can track me, and my browser is set to not store any history so they can't get to me that way either.

If the site menu bar is being hijiacked by Google it's a new one on me. I will look behind the scenes and see if there is anything I can do, and if not I'll pass it on to Matt and see if he has any ideas.

Nothing in the admin options that I can see, so have escalated it to Matt.

Did a search on Google. Is it only Chrome users that are affected?

I use firefox on my laptop so the ad blocker stops them all. I did notice earlier tonight on my phone that different ads were showing up. That's the first time I've seen ads other than our usual on it.

I made a decision some years back to have nothing to do with GOOGLE and I am suffering the same uninvited intrusions on my Puter.
