I don’t know what tank to buy please help

Hello everyone I am sure this question has been done to death so I apologise. I am looking to buy a tank I have £200-250 ish to play with.
I love the look of the challenger t90 henglong however from what I can make out with the resurch I have done. The henglong is of less quality with som fundamental weaknesses eg plastic lower chassis and spring suspension.
I have looked at the tiagen tanks and they look better quality but don’t do modern tanks from what I can see.
Tamika kits a lovely but well out of my price range.
Do I just buy a tiagen tiger or are there any suggestions I want a big tank but I would compromise with quality over the type of tank.
My other question
I have a transmitter a spectrum dx7s which I use for rc planes. And a good quality battery charger that also does lipo. Can I use them and save money??

Just dealing with the transmitter, to the best of my knowledge, it will not work with the stock boards supplied with Heng Long or Taigen tanks, which come with their own Rc gear.

The T90's run fine, and you can use Lipo's but may find the battery box an odd size. Given you'll buy more than one, just get what you like the look of and go from there!
Yes, plastic is weaker than metal, but how strong do you need it to be?

From what your saying do you think the henglong tanks are good quality?

When I started in the Hobby Heng Long Tanks were cheap and very much Toys,
The electrics were a sick joke and the fit was awful and the plastic was as flexible as a wine glass, over the years the electrics are almost as good as some aftermarket boards,
The moulded on Fittings are now pop on/off and the plastic is now ABS,
The biggest failing now is the Pot Metal Gearboxes.
I would happily buy a New Heng Long Challenger although if I already had a Spectrum Radio I would take out the Heng Long RX18 control board and change it for a new Taigen V2 control board which is probably the cheapest "Decent" Control Board because you can use the V2 with an aftermarket Transmitter such as the Spectrum,
If the Challenger has Pot Metal gearboxes I would change them for a pair of Taigen 5 to 1 gearboxes but if it came with Nylon gears I would leave them alone.
As to Li-Po battery's shop around and you will find one that will fit,
Don't worry to much about the Challengers Plastic Hull it really is a lot stronger than Heng Longs earlier Tanks,
Shaun.

Another good idea would be to go along to a club nearest you and have a good chat and look at the tanks in the flesh. Before you make a decision or buy.

Tiger 1 is the most safe and logical start. The new dual sound H/L set ups are really good, spares and upgrades are widely available, and research material growing like a Jamaican hydroponic garden!!
Also, please take the time to look through years of projects in here, lots to inspire

Thankyou for all you help it certainly stopped me making some expensive mistakes. I have decided what I am going to buy now and it’s going to be a full metal tiagen self assembly kit. This kit on eBay 263375468587 off a seller called uk-tm. The reasons being is it comes with steel gearbox’s and all metal components. Plus I get to build it myself which has great appeal to me (See spec of eBay search the number above) th kit doesn’t come with the transmitter or mother board or smoke. But I can buy that separately I think. The route I want to take is some how buy a v2 board and speaker and smoker generator and then use my spectrum transmitter. I have just got to find somewhere in th uk that sells all of it.
It’s pritty hard work finding out all the info i have needed and making hopefull the right decision.
