WPL truck to Diamond T/M19 conversion

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Figured out how to pint a towhook avoiding the problem of failure along deposition layer - simples (as the friendly meercat would say) - print it in two parts and interlock them.

Finally got all the pieces to get the Diamond T functional, and here it is
phpBB [video]

Dougal (the faithful canine companion and watchdog) wasn't too impressed with it. The steering sevo is the wrong way round and I don't have the ciomputer cable to update the tx so driving was interesting (I'm using the HK T6A tx) whilst also trying to video the action.

Packing all the electronics and battery under the bonnet wasn't too painful but using the old velcro patches worked fine.

Now it's functional I can tidy up and get on with the build.

Looks excellent. I do hope you are going to find some suitable sounds when you finish it off.

Yes I must investigate the availability of inexpensive truck sound sound boards, I should have space for a board, the speaker may have to ride in the caboose.

Now that the tractor is fully functional I have started work on the M9 trailer. Here's a start on the front bogie.

Just waiting for the tpu filament and then I can get some tyres printed.
