Useful bench tool lidl UK

Hi all

A seriously useful desk top sander from lidl UK

I have it and it's going to save me many hours sanding and grinding shape and surfaces on my builds
£30 from lidl UK

Great tool indeed. I have a bit larger version (6x36 belt, 12" disc), and cannot begin to say how useful it is in scratch building.

Hi That will be handy for doing compound angles , will be popping round see if they have any near me .

Hmmmm, there could be a couple of issues with this device. The problem with special buys at Aldi/Lidl is that they are just that, one off buys. It will be fine provided that it uses self-adhesive sanding pads that are common to other manufacturers like black and decker or Bosch, but if these pads are not readily available in the future then you will have a rather heavy work bench ornament. Also how easy is it to change grades of sandpaper for different jobs or even for different stages in part manufacture?

If you look at the box it does state that it's self adhesive pads.

It all depends on the mechanism, whether it's a Velcro type arrangement or some sort of adhesive, if it's adhesive then it may not be easy to change grades.
