Well, the cat's out of the bag, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Bob, aka Sevoblast. Joined a few days ago. My wife and I are avid tankers, and some of you will also know me as the owner of Etoarmour.com. We live in Sevastopol, Krimea, but my business is in USA, run from here. All hail the internet!
Anyhow, we have been working on getting tanking started in this area. In Kiev, there is a pretty good crowd of them, and Odessa, but not much here yet. We have done several exibitions and displays in City Centre last summer and fall, and one earlier this spring. Hopefully the seeds are planted.
We battle different here. Apples are lowered for more cosmetic appeal. All tanks are set to "light" except Tiger 1 and Peshing, which are set to "medium". King and Jagdtiger are set to heavy, and JT has IFA, Invulnerable Front Armor. JT is undergoing a ground up resto with lots of added details. He should be ready to go back to the front in late summer. Tank speeds are generally set to the listed Off Road speed.
My wife, aka VCO, has a T34 85 with all Tam electronics, and a Russian Panther. She is turning in to quite the vicious little battler. Still teaching her, but she's a good student, sometimes too good. Of course, in the exibitions, we generally let the Russians win the battle, to the cheers of the crowd, The number of vets here, however, is still quite large, and many will comment as to the realistic sounds and tactics. Some of them have some interesting information, too. For instance, we are actively hunting a rare late war Russian tank, supposedly on a plinth in one of the many military konzerns here. Eventually I will find it and get permission to go on base and photo it. The old boy was pretty adamant that he knew what he saw some 30 years ago. I hope he's correct. When I find it I'll post photos here amongst other places.
